Westwater
$456.00
This section of the Colorado River is just plain spectacular. It’s home to some of North America’s most infamous rapids with names like Skull and The Room of Doom. It is a beautiful flight east to Westwater, covering much of the same area as the Moab Daily; Castleton Tower, Fisher Towers, Porcupine Rim and Dewey Bridge. The flight up the canyon will start at the Cisco takeout and proceed up this geologically fascinating canyon to the Westwater takeout. We then loop north for our trip back flying to the semi-ghost town of Cisco. We will set down and visit Cisco’s General Store and explore the once thriving railroad town. We’ll pass through the Yellow Cat mining district and make our approach to the Moab airport over the north end of Arches.

Safety is paramount to all our tours. Our helicopters are meticulously maintained. Since we do venture into remote places we carry a full array of communications equipment including a satellite phone, portable tracking device, as well as onboard Emergency Locator Transmitters. Each aircraft is also equipped with survival and medical equipment.
Moab Heli X operates the Robinson R44 II and R66 Turbine Helicopters.
The R44’s aerodynamic fuselage optimizes airspeed and fuel economy. Hydraulic controls eliminate feedback forces and provide responsive handling. A low tail-rotor tip speed, newly designed muffler, and large cambered tail reduce flyover noise. These four-seat helicopters are high-performing, reliable, and easy to maintain. With a great view from any seat, and the latest in Robinson technology, our aircraft are a great way to view the vast and remote areas that Moab has to offer.
Raven II helicopters are powered by a Lycoming IO-540 fuel-injected engine. The IO-540 delivers better altitude performance and increased payload.
R66 TURBINE five-seat helicopters are reliable, economical, and easy to maintain. The R66’s spacious 300 lb capacity baggage compartment along with the powerful Rolls Royce RR300 turbine engine provides greater utility. The lightweight RR300 engine operates on readily available Jet A fuel, delivering increased reserve power, additional payload, and improved altitude performance. The R66 meets the FAA’s current crashworthiness regulations with energy-absorbing seats and a crash-worthy fuel system.
