$705.00

Bears Ears is a sacred and special place. Now it is protected again with the reestablishment of the national monument boundaries. Bears Ears contains some of our country’s most important archeological sites. The trip takes us over Gold Bar, down the Colorado, passing Island in the Sky, Indian Creek and the Needles District of Canyonlands NP.  We will then climb up the west side of the beautiful Abajo mountains and drop into the Bears Ears buttes. From there, we will fly to the north end of Comb Ridge which is 150 miles in length and contains a huge number of Anasazi ruins and rock art. We will then fly back over the confluence of the Green and Colorado rivers and make our way up the Green River along the spectacular west side of Canyonlands NP.

We hope this beautiful flight inspires you to visit this area on the ground.

Safety is paramount to all our tours. Our helicopters are meticulously maintained. Since we do venture into remote places we carry a full array of communications equipment including a satellite phone, portable tracking device, as well as onboard Emergency Locator Transmitters. Each aircraft is also equipped with survival and medical equipment.

Moab Heli X operates the Robinson R44 II and R66 Turbine Helicopters.

The R44’s aerodynamic fuselage optimizes airspeed and fuel economy. Hydraulic controls eliminate feedback forces and provide responsive handling. A low tail-rotor tip speed, newly designed muffler, and large cambered tail reduce flyover noise. These four-seat helicopters are high-performing, reliable, and easy to maintain. With a great view from any seat, and the latest in Robinson technology, our aircraft are a great way to view the vast and remote areas that Moab has to offer.

Raven II helicopters are powered by a Lycoming IO-540 fuel-injected engine. The IO-540 delivers better altitude performance and increased payload.

R66 TURBINE five-seat helicopters are reliable, economical, and easy to maintain. The R66’s spacious 300 lb capacity baggage compartment along with the powerful Rolls Royce RR300 turbine engine provides greater utility. The lightweight RR300 engine operates on readily available Jet A fuel, delivering increased reserve power, additional payload, and improved altitude performance. The R66 meets the FAA’s current crashworthiness regulations with energy-absorbing seats and a crash-worthy fuel system.

Every heli-adventure is different. Check with Moab Heli X for a list of gear needed.
